PRODUCTIVITY
BEFORE SAFETY ?
We
are told that B.T. would Never put productivity before the safety of it's
Employees, A statement that we would whole-heartedly applaud! and we feel sure
that B.T. would take a Very dim view of Any Manager who chose to
ignore this. The Birmingham Branch Assures its Member's that where this can be
proven, we would seek redress at the most senior levels. If you believe that
this is taking place...please contact the branch office Immediately.
DEFECTIVE
VEHICLES
IF
YOU BELIEVE YOUR COMPANY VEHICLE TO BE DEFECTIVE ie: WORN OR DAMAGED TYRES, WORN
BRAKES etc…..DO NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE OUT ON THE ROAD UNTIL YOU HAVE CONTACTED
YOUR MANAGER FOR GUIDANCE! REMEMBER THAT YOU THE DRIVER COULD BE PROSECUTED BY
THE AUTHORITIES (POLICE/VEHICLE INSPECTORATE) IF YOU KNOWINGLY CONTINUE TO USE A
DEFECTIVE VEHICLE ON THE PUBLIC HIGHWAY. THE B.T. DRIVERS HANDBOOK IS NOW
AVAILABLE ON THE INTRANET AND ALL MEMBERS SHOULD FAMILIARIZE THEMSELVES WITH
THE REQUIREMENTS CONTAINED WITHIN IT. IF ANY MANAGER INSISTS THAT YOU TAKE THE
VEHICLE OUT ON THE ROAD IN A DEFECTIVE STATE…RING THE BRANCH OFFICE
IMMEDIATELY!
