For the attention of
member's that work in the UG network.
It has come to our attention
that ELECTRICITY
companies are using kit joint closure's which look very similar to BT's KJC 2
& kits repair 11 series. Obviously there are serious
safety concerns over correct
identification of cables and reiterates the need for only
appropriately trained people to access the
UG network.
STEEL CAPPING'S :- Dear members
After an accident occurred during the removal of steel capping from a pole,
enquiries were made as to the correct tool to be used for this purpose.
Eventually someone came up with an answer, the correct tool to be used, as
directed by the company, is the Chisel cold flat 5/8x7inch i/c 127266 "Not
Screwdrivers Cabinet"!
After hammering in the chisel between pole and capping, I would suggest the use
of the crowbar no 2 i/c 112871 to lever the capping proud. Also the use of
pincers i/c 115690 to extract the steel pins, always remembering to use the
appropriate P.P.E. i.e. gloves, goggles and helmet.
